MONTH OF June

Welcome to a more low-key Gemini season than you’re probably used to—which might be a relief this year. Between Mercury retrograde, two eclipses and an intense grand cross (four-way standoff) between Jupiter, Mars, Pluto and the lunar nodes, the last couple months have served up major intensity. It’s been a lot to digest, even for you!

Ease your way through this solar-powered reset while the Sun moves through Gemini until June 21. With Jupiter in Taurus and your healing, fluid twelfth house until next May 25, taking things at a slow and surrendered pace is the only way. Although that’s not the typical style for your clever and cerebral sign, following the universe’s plan instead of trying to control the agenda can deliver some miracles you won’t want to miss. The key will be quieting (or outright ignoring) all those chattering voices in your head telling you to do this, go here, act now!

If you don’t have a meditation or mindfulness practice—and even if you do—this is a great month to begin one in earnest. The June 18 Gemini new moon offers an ideal window for renewal as this once-a-year event helps you make a celestially supported fresh start. Although the new moon falls on (American) Father’s Day, you’ll still want to carve out some “me time” to reflect on your own plans and priorities.

Retrograde high season begins in the second half of June as Saturn (June 17) and Neptune (June 30) join Pluto in reverse gear for the next few months. On June 11, Pluto backs out of Aquarius and into Capricorn until early next year. Since March 23, you’ve gotten a snack-sized serving of Pluto’s transformational powers from its short trip through your visionary ninth house, a 20-year cycle that begins in earnest November 2024.

Once Cancer season kicks off on June 21, you’ll be able to get back into a more productive groove. One of your birthday wishes could begin to materialize, and life could start to take a bit more of a definitive direction. Until then, enjoy going with the flow and seeing what unexpected delights come your way.

It’s Gemini season until June 21

Happy birthday season to you! With the Sun shining in Gemini until June 21, your personal goals and dreams get front-burner status. As you kick off another trip around the Sun, get clear about the people, commitments and projects you want to bring into your next year of life. What new experiences would you like to have?

Consider this question with equal importance: What DON’T you want anymore? With expansive Jupiter in Taurus and your twelfth house of closure until next May 25, you’ve got cosmic permission to release what no longer serves you. Carve out time for reflection this Gemini season and don’t mistake your soul-searching for navel-gazing, Gemini. The more white space you can leave in your calendar now, the better. This is a divine cycle, so rather than clutter up your schedule with halfhearted commitments, leave room for wonder, awe and miracles to find you!

The Sagittarius full moon spotlights partnerships on June 3

The full moon in truth-teller Sagittarius beams into your seventh house of committed relationships. Authenticity is the only option for your closest ties to thrive, so commence clearing the air! This full moon could bring a decisive moment between you and a significant other or close colleague. Is it time to make things official? An opportunity to partner up could come to fruition—but since full moons mark turning points, it could also go bust. At the very least, the details may need some dedicated hammering out.

If you’ve done your due diligence and now you’re just procrastinating on a decision, this lunar light could demand that you stop equivocating and give a firm yes or no. You’ve been working toward this moment all year, Gemini—and you’re as ready as you’ll ever be! There’s freedom in choosing, so release any FOMO and self-doubt.

Pluto retrograde backs into Capricorn on June 11

Don’t be afraid of your shadow, Gemini. This June 11, Pluto retrograde backs into Capricorn and your intimate, psychologically intricate eighth house, You may see a few (at first) unsavory things about yourself and other people or grapple with some of your own heavier emotions. This cycle could also reveal hidden power dynamics in your closest ties. While the highs and lows can feel overwhelming at times, especially with expansive Jupiter in your subconscious twelfth house, you’ll grow exponentially by exploring this “buried treasure” and NOT sweeping it aside.

Intense Pluto, the ruler of transformation and the unconscious, had been retrograde since May 1, when it began its backslide through Aquarius and your expansive ninth house, making you question your concept of reality and envision a powerful new future. Consider it a quick sneak preview, though, one you’ll get back to in earnest in late 2024.

This June 11, Pluto backs into Capricorn until January 21, 2024, returning to the part of your chart it’s been in since 2008. Pluto will dart between Capricorn and Aquarius until settling into Aquarius for a 20-year run in November 2024. Until then, you’ll be working through themes of the eighth house, which include issues of power and control around sex, emotions, money and shared power.

While Pluto is retrograde (until October 10), you may deal with some addictive or obsessive tendencies or learn a painful but necessary lesson about power dynamics. If jealousy arises or a person triggers you, try to see them as a mirror or a messenger. How is this person reflecting some part of YOUR life that’s out of alignment? The people who get under your skin could be spotlighting areas where you need to make a major change or set firmer boundaries.

Even the most rock-solid relationships will benefit from cleaning up their edges while Pluto makes its last run through Capricorn. Use Pluto’s retrograde to fortify your bonds and address simmering resentments. Deal with everything at a root level instead of tidying up the surface and your life will slowly but certainly transform.

Saturn turns retrograde in Pisces on June 17

Do your goals and plans need to be reconsidered? You might head back to the drawing board mid-month, when foundational Saturn begins a retrograde backspin that will last from June 17 until November 4. Saturn and the tenth house all rule your career and big plans, so it’s a double dose of this “structural repair” energy.

You can’t avoid dealing with the scaffolding that upholds your life, Gemini, nor should you. Saturn retrograde will reveal where that needs to be solidified and developed. You might work with a coach or mentor or do some focused planning around an important goal. To make it easier, break big projects down into smaller tasks and spread them out over a manageable amount of time. Go back and make sure that everything is in its place and that you haven’t cut corners or skipped steps.

The Gemini new moon is on June 18

Fresh start: incoming! No matter if your birthday has already passed, once the year’s only Gemini moon arrives on June 18, you’ll be ready for a full-on reset. This lunar lift is considered your personal new year—a moment to recalibrate and make sure everything you’re doing is aligned with the true you. So even though we’re halfway through 2023, you get a second chance to turn the page.

If you’ve been putting off a big change or are uncertain about your next steps, the Gemini new moon can help point the way. And it’s fine if your next move is more like a baby step. The new moon will be at odds with nebulous Neptune in your future-focused tenth house, making it hard to discern a clear path.

With Jupiter in Taurus and your twelfth house of endings until next May 25, diving into anything too structured isn’t necessarily the best move this summer. But…is there a creative path you want to explore or something that can help you connect to your inner voice? This year’s Gemini new moon is the perfect time to start a spiritual or artistic endeavor or to tune into what the universe wants without an agenda.

Father’s Day is also on June 18, the day after Saturn (which rules fathers) turns retrograde in your tenth house of men and paternal figures. For some Geminis, that could bring up anger, disappointment or heaviness as you reflect on this relationship. Allow yourself to have your feelings without judging them and you’ll be able to connect to appreciation, if only for the fact that he gave you life. If you’re on good terms with your dad or a father figure, this year’s celebration could be a time to open up and share something about yourself—or learn something new about him.

Summer solstice! Cancer season starts June 21

Ready for a little more certainty, Gemini? On June 21, the Sun starts its monthlong journey through Cancer and your stabilizing second house. It will be easier to get grounded and prioritize, so don’t squander this productive cycle! Start taking action to make those birthday wishes into a tangible reality.

Cancer season begins at the summer solstice, when the Sun reaches its peak height in the northern hemisphere and appears to “stand still” for three days. It wouldn’t hurt for you to do the same! Stop, drop your agenda and get clear about how to best use your energy for maximum return on the investment.

For the next four weeks, streamlining and prioritizing are the order of the day. Choose a couple of meaningful projects and chip away at them, bit by bit. If you want to start a new routine or practice, this solar cycle gives you the discipline to stick with it. Just resist the urge to dabble in a million things at once, Gemini, even if you’re interested in all of them! Focus on one or two key goals and do them thoroughly, without cutting corners.

Mars-Uranus square June 25

Confusion alert! The last few days of the month could find your head spinning with racing thoughts that morph quickly into frustration. Aggravator Mars in Leo and your communicative third house is already sharpening your tongue with sarcastic barbs and incendiary statements (and it’s here until July 10). You might even unconsciously be LOOKING for a fight just to release all that tension.

When Mars locks into a tense square with volatile Uranus in Taurus and your passive-aggressive twelfth house this June 25, anger you’ve been holding in could come gushing out. Keep tabs on your mental and emotional state today, Gemini. Are you putting too much pressure on yourself? Your expectations of others could also be unrealistic. If you’re feeling polarized by certain people, shift gears and try to forge understanding. That probably means taking a radically different approach than the shouting matches or stonewalling you’ve attempted.

Neptune turns retrograde June 30

On June 30, imaginative Neptune turns retrograde in Pisces until December 6, joining structured Saturn in its reversal through this sign. With the foggy planet slowing down in your tenth house of career and long-term goals, plans may proceed at a snail’s pace—if they don’t completely stall here and there. While this feels like a setback, it’s actually an opportunity in disguise. Press pause on anything that’s moving too fast and use the summer to get clear on what you truly want!

For most of this year, your professional trajectory might take a more meandering path. Instead of freaking out, explore creative ideas and other options. Adopt a “summer sabbatical” mindset instead of spinning your wheels. Teetering on the verge of burnout? Ask for support instead of trying to power through. Leaning on compassionate colleagues can mitigate any rough patches—but be respectful of boundaries (which are NOT a Neptunian strong suit) and make sure you’re not draining anyone by offloading too much onto them.

Since retrogrades rule the past, an old mentor or boss could resurface, someone nurturing and who always took a special interest in you or honored your talents. Reach out and reconnect. Maybe they’ll have a lead or some golden advice to offer during a confusing period. The tenth house rules men and fathers, and this could be a healing cycle with an important guy in your life.

Just friends…or something more? This month, you may decide to add a “benefits package” to a platonic connection—or to bring a more playful energy to an existing relationship. With both love planets spending most of the month in Leo and your communicative third house, sharing is caring.

Passionate Mars is in Leo from May 20 until July 10, keeping your witty banter flowing but also making you crave novelty and variety. Whether that means dating a few different people or trying new activities with your favorite plus-one, satisfy your Gemini curiosity in every way you can! (Feel free to let your imagination run wild with Mars roving through this exploratory zone.)

Romantic Venus joins Mars in Leo on June 5, settling in for an extended visit until October 8. This is a mixed blessing since Venus will be retrograde from July 22 to September 3, a time that can challenge even the strongest relationships. It won’t enter Leo gracefully either: Venus will immediately oppose shadowy Pluto in Aquarius on June 5, giving you a sneak preview of any simmering issues in your love life that could arise during Venus retrograde next month. Consider it a blessing in disguise and start working on these matters already.

One day to watch out for is June 26, when Mars locks into a heated 90-degree square with volatile Uranus in your passive-aggressive twelfth house. Your irrevocable words could throw daggers into someone’s most tender emotions if you lash out. Or, you could be deeply wounded by something a partner or friend says. Set ground rules if you plan to have any difficult conversations. Or better yet, save ‘em for another day!

You’ve got the gift of gab most days, Gemini, but in the first half of June, you’ll experience a few of your finest hours. Not only is the Sun visiting your sign until June 21 (#GeminiSeason), but there’s also a galvanizing Gemini new moon on June 13. With all this action in your assertive first house, you’ll feel confident speaking up for your needs and sharing your trailblazing ideas. If you haven’t already achieved influencer status, prepare to be anointed!

The second half of the month beckons more reflection. Structured Saturn (June 17) and soul-searching Neptune (June 30) will both begin long retrograde backspins in Pisces and your tenth house of career. Some of your goals might need to be better mapped out. Or, maybe you need a little more spaciousness to let your creativity blossom. Whatever you decide, don’t rush into anything too rigid now. You’re liable to regret any hasty attempts to lock down security before you’ve fully explored your options.
