Haim aren’t looking for a fourth band member anytime soon. But, it’s a relief to hear that the requirements for the job - besides being a blood relative, of course - aren’t entirely out of reach.

‘You have to have messed up teeth, love to dance, and love Prince – that feels like us,’ Alana told ELLE UK of what it takes to be a Haim sibling. ‘You’re basically a Haim sister if you check those boxes, you can hang,’ added Este, with Danielle holding her thumbs up in agreement.

The rock trio recently spent a day with the magazine while shooting the July/August cover and sat down with us to film an episode of Ask Me Anything. Talking about the best and worst thing about working with family, Este noted: ‘We get to tour together, so it’s built in friends. First of all, that’s the best thing. The worst thing? We steal each other’s clothes and f*ck them up and then have to lie saying we lost them.’

‘What do you want us to say?’ joked Alana, with Este adding that she steals the majority of Danielle’s clothes, much to Danielle's shock. ‘And then I’ll get a stain on it and then I have to be like “I left it in Poughkeepsie, oops."'

‘Oh god, we’re broken up now,’ jested Alana.

The sisters, who are headlining London’s All Points East festival on August 28 and supporting Taylor Swift on some of the US leg of her Eras tour, also told us the best thing about working with friend and Grammy award winner Swift.

‘We’d have parties after every show, like BBQs and dance parties,’ revealed Este. I made a lot of PB&J on that tour. I’d be at craft services and making a PB&J [sandwiched] and watch “Welcome to New York”.

‘We got to see the show every night,’ Alana emphatically pointed out, with Danielle adding: ‘”Out of the Woods”... I feel like that was when everyone got together and cried.’

As for the craziest rumour they’ve read about themselves, they noted they’re in the same camp as the Jonas brothers. ‘The weirdest internet rumour is that we’re cousins. We’re not, ask my mum and my dad… or our mum,’ said Alana, before realising that the confusion might come from the sisters saying 'my mum and my dad' instead of ‘our mum and our dad’.

Referencing the upcoming third season of The White Lotus, the sisters – who are now Louis Vuitton ambassadors – discussed who would get killed off first in the hit show. ‘I feel like both of you would just die at the same time,’ noted Este, before Alana questioned: ‘So you could be the one left alone?

‘I think Danielle would go first… actually Danielle is pretty quiet so she could creep through the hotel. I’m too loud, it’d probably be more,’ she added, before Este joked about her younger sister: ‘Or I was going to say you’d get too drunk and fall over a railing and die.’
